Power Industries
Over the years, the ruling businesses have changed. Some of the business around a hundred years ago a still around, but they are not the powerhouses they used to be. This is due to the competing corporations in the same industry and the constant change of how we live.
The oil industry has dominated over all other businesses for years. Oil is what runs America; it is used to heat and run homes and buildings, and is a vital part in transportation. Rockefeller started a long-lasting oil company in the late 1800's that has yet to be diminished, now known as Exxon Mobil. |
Another company that has been around for a hundred years is Ford. It has expanded outside of America and has become one of the largest automobile manufactures in the world. Ford cars do not make up fifty percent of the cars on the road in America as they did in the early 1900's, because there are many more companies to compete with.
Technology has taken a dramatic increase in the past two to three decades. The world is contained in a tiny cell-phone. Just one hundred years ago, the railways and cars were the latest technology. America has had a boom in technology during the turn of the century of the 1900's to the 2000's. |
